……no, I have not committed any crime..yet. The only crime I’m guilty of (so far) is spending loads of time on my sewing machine and ‘borrowing’ ideas from those generous bloggers..stitching bloggers. :D

Hot Pads.. Pot Holders

I’ve been making hot pads…pot holders! Made them as gifts for my family for the Lunar New Year a.k.a. Chinese New Year. You see, with all the cooking for the reunion dinners, I thought this would be handy to keep those fingers from getting burnt!

I used the stitch and flip method a.k.a. quilt as you go method.

Used this method for my earlier coasters.

  

Then I went a little crazy with this …….

…then I remembered I have some stitchery done some time back. So, I place one at the bottom centre of the batting..but it didn’t turn out centre at all! (left pic)

…so for the next one I just placed it.. a little tilted off-centre!

…ahhh…this is why I love hexagons! Made a hexagonal ‘window’ for my stitchery. Love it!

These are going to my mum and mum-in-law… :D

Chinese New Year is just round the corner.So I've been working on …something. Cannot post the full photos yet because it’s gonna be gifts for my family. And I can’t let ‘someone’ spoil the surprise! :D

But I shall reveal it once I’ve given them away!

Another Package for Mummy

I made another ‘package’ for mummy. Guess what’s inside? *o*

There are flowers and a butterfly! All machine appliqued with blanket stitch…..

…in a basket!

It’s a free pattern from Bunny Hill Designs.There are twelve of them..one for each month. Thanks Anne Sutton!

The applique done, I selected some fabric from my stash…

…start piecing the strips…

….and another Charlie for mum!

  Added a yo-yo flower with two ‘stems’ which is also the straps to ‘package’ the bag when it’s folded! It’s easier to keep the folded bag with the velcro-ed strap than in a pocket as in my first Charlie.
