I Baked My Buns Today!

Let me run thru' what I did. First of all...I cheated ! I used the breadmaker to do all the hardwork for me :)

Here it is in an oiled bowl to be left to proof and pooof.

After an hour it has risen to more than double its volume.Punch it down.

Hey, I did do some kneading ! Divide into 50grams balls.(I wanted my buns to be roughly the same size)

Shape it with whatever filling you like.I did two varieties- egg and cheese mayo and parsley crabstick ( got to think of better names!)

Cover it again for it to rest and rise. Remember to put it into the oven!

Ta da!

Itching to stitch another bag...

Everytime I land myself into Rebeka Lambert's blog, my hands start to itch to make another bag. I envy her bags! So far I have made the Phoebe bag from her free pattern. Thanks again.

I totally love this bag!

But I desprately need to finish up the patchwork quilt I started last year. You see, the new bed for the guest room/sewing room arrived last week. And I need to give the room a makeover before my mum or mum-in-law comes visiting!

See the raw edges? Got to quickly finish the other side to make up the quilt.

Close up of the little squares.
It's totally hand stitched! Yup, all 1.5inch squares.Crazy huh?

This is going to the other side of the quilt.

You see, I like to keep my hands busy when I'm watching tv or while waiting to fetch my children from school.Did this for my daughter years ago when I had to wait and watched over my children during their swimming lessons.

It's the Grandmother's Flower Garden using the English paper piecing method.

Then I made this for my son. Went a little crazy using 1 inch hexagons!

(It was very cold!)

Will post more pics when I have the time to take my whole collection out from the cupboard.

Bias Tape Tote

Australians will refer to their handbag as their “bag”, whereas I think Americans call their handbag a “purse”. Australians call their wallet their purse. .....…Confused?

Anyway, finished this today. It's the Bias Tape Tote from Belle Epoque. Thanks for the tutorial.Get the pattern here.

I like this shade of brown.

Another of my yo-yo flower...bigger this time.

Roomy..lots of pockets.

...with a darted bottom.

Remember this?

Stitched this piece sometime back...

Have to find something to do with it...

...so yesterday cut up some scraps of material and gave it a home.

I really mean scraps.Look at how many 'joints' there are.

Not bad eh?

I think I'll make another green bag with it.

Getting others to save the Planet Earth

Stitched another green bag. This time I'm giving it away so that others can help me keep those pesky plastics off the landfills.I've since declined many plastic bags. But once those plastic bags I have are depleted from my cabinet,I'll start 'collecting' them again. You see,I 'need' them to throw my rubbish! Alam Flora will not collect the rubbish if it's not in plastic bags.Anyone have any ideas on how to make Alam Flora pick up my 'unpacked' rubbish?

Anyway, here it is... the 'Charlie Reusable Grocery Bag from Burdastyle. It's made from strips of scraps.

I used one of my Redwork to make it 'one of its kind'!

Best of all it can be folded neatly to be stashed into your handbag.

There's a pocket on the other side of the bag.

All you need to do is to lay it flat with the Redwork facing up....

fold it inwards like so (follow the width of the pocket)...............

..............and then fold toward the center...................

...then put your hand into the pocket and turn the bag out.

REMEMBER : Put it into your handbag ! [Actually, you can use it as a handbag !]

It's very roomy....room enough for lots of shopping !

Saving the planet from more plastic bags

Remember my Go Green bag ?

Was going thru my collection of bags and I found this.

That's a reusable canvas shopping bag, right? But I don't want to carry that ! So, I used some of my english paper piecing patchwork and gave it a makeover !
