Stitching Folder

Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time stitching BOMs and pretty stitcheries.
Then I realise, I need something to carry all the stuffs when I am on the go. So, I came up with a folder!

DSCN2297
There’s a pocket to keep the floss….and buttons to ‘hang’ the separated floss……
( I usually use two strands on all my stitcheries)

DSCN2298
….another pocket to keep the scissors ….and some sort of ' ‘skirting’ that opens up like a tray. The ‘skirt’ prevents the scissors and fabric from slipping out.

I used the Roses stitchery by Jenny of Elefantz. Thanks Jenny.
(A little confession…I was too lazy to print out the pattern, so I just copied it of the computer screen.)

Way back in February, I wrote about a free BOM offered by Val Laird .

Val just released the sixth block last week.  I finally started stitching them….and I couldn’t stop! Already done three of them. I made them a little smaller..to fit into a charm square.

Sorry Val, I went straight to #5 after #2 because #5 reminds me of this other stitchery I am stitching along too! But I’m progressing along very fast with the other three blocks:)

I used variegated embroidery floss for the flowers. I’m liking this variegated floss very much!

If you have not started on this lovely BOM, hurry to Val’s blog now!!!draw a heart

Window Treatment

I love to hand stitch. That’s why I’m always looking out for stitcheries to download.

I’ve been wanting to try my hands at making the Cathedral Window. It’s a quilt~as~you go project. So, there’s no batting or back fabric to think about. And there’s lots of hand stitching to do ! So I started  ‘googling’ . There were so many blogs out there offering tutorials !

Finally I settled for the tutorial by Tammy. Her tutorial is very easy to follow. Thanks Tammy!

Here it is! I’m falling in love with these windows :)
And it’s a great way to use up your scraps too !
