Window Treatment

I love to hand stitch. That’s why I’m always looking out for stitcheries to download.

I’ve been wanting to try my hands at making the Cathedral Window. It’s a quilt~as~you go project. So, there’s no batting or back fabric to think about. And there’s lots of hand stitching to do ! So I started  ‘googling’ . There were so many blogs out there offering tutorials !

Finally I settled for the tutorial by Tammy. Her tutorial is very easy to follow. Thanks Tammy!

Here it is! I’m falling in love with these windows :)
And it’s a great way to use up your scraps too !

  7. Beautiful! I admire your fine motor skills that this project would need. Alas, I'm just not that adept with hand-sewing. Your choice of fabrics makes your piece look like stained-glass. I could stare at it for hours. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sewing! :o)

  12. Wow, that is beautiful... I'm a handsew-er too- I lose control of the machine!! I'd love to have a go at doing something like that, although I think i'm a bit free range for a quilt. Looking forward to seeing more! X

  18. Cathedral Windows has been tempting me too--but so far I'm managing to resist. ;-) However, looking at your beautiful piece is really very inspiring.

  20. I am impressed! I can only do handwork in the winter, so I've got several projects stacking up waiting for the snow to come :o0

  23. Oh! The tedious and lovely art of stitching. I am so thankful that my Mother taught me how to do proper stitching! Well, in my house, my Indianapolis blinds’ tricky design will push me to take time stitching a curtain that will cover the whole intricate pane. Without your tutorial, everything will fall apart in me. : ) I also want to add linen covers on my shutters. Indianapolis’ snow fall on December may take its place by then and I want to protect my wood shutters from being over-wet. I’ll show you my finished work after! Thanks!
