I’ve been wanting to try my hands at making the Cathedral Window. It’s a quilt~as~you go project. So, there’s no batting or back fabric to think about. And there’s lots of hand stitching to do ! So I started ‘googling’ . There were so many blogs out there offering tutorials !
Finally I settled for the tutorial by Tammy. Her tutorial is very easy to follow. Thanks Tammy!
Here it is! I’m falling in love with these windows :)
And it’s a great way to use up your scraps too !

Looks great Penny. I have a tutorial on my blog where my cathedral was featured. This is by far my favorite technique.
ReplyDeleteIt look cute. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely little project!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you Penny - there is so much online to help us... your windows are lovely.... Hugz
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteGreat piece, Penny. It's really lovely. Wish I could do it to? Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I admire your fine motor skills that this project would need. Alas, I'm just not that adept with hand-sewing. Your choice of fabrics makes your piece look like stained-glass. I could stare at it for hours. Thanks for sharing. Happy Sewing! :o)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! :o)
ReplyDeleteThose windows are looking great! I have been wanting to try these out and plan to make it my next take-along project for the school year. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteWow, that is beautiful... I'm a handsew-er too- I lose control of the machine!! I'd love to have a go at doing something like that, although I think i'm a bit free range for a quilt. Looking forward to seeing more! X
ReplyDeleteI love Cathedral Window quilts and have always wanted to make one. How far along are you? It's going to be beautiful!

ReplyDeleteCathedral Windows has been tempting me too--but so far I'm managing to resist. ;-) However, looking at your beautiful piece is really very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic,I am going to look at the tutorial but I am a complete novice so I think it will be a while before I attempt anything like that. Thanks for linking to lush friday. Andrea
ReplyDeleteI am impressed! I can only do handwork in the winter, so I've got several projects stacking up waiting for the snow to come :o0

ReplyDeleteOh! The tedious and lovely art of stitching. I am so thankful that my Mother taught me how to do proper stitching! Well, in my house, my Indianapolis blinds’ tricky design will push me to take time stitching a curtain that will cover the whole intricate pane. Without your tutorial, everything will fall apart in me. : ) I also want to add linen covers on my shutters. Indianapolis’ snow fall on December may take its place by then and I want to protect my wood shutters from being over-wet. I’ll show you my finished work after! Thanks!
